Fr. Kevin Nolan is a native Angelino, born July 24, 1963 at Queen of Angel Hospital, Los Angeles. His parents, Laurence and Bernadette Nolan, were immigrants from Ireland and Canada, respectively. Fr. Kevin is the fourth born child of five close siblings. He is a “lifer,” having attended Queen of Angels High School Seminary, graduating in 1982. He went on to attend both St. John Seminary College and St. John Seminary, Camarillo with a B.A. in Philosophy in 1986 and Masters of Divinity in 1990. Before his ordination to the priesthood, he began serving our troops as a Chaplain Candidate with the United States Army. He did most of his military service state side as a chaplain, while serving as a priest for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. His foreign tours include Germany, Kuwait and Iraq.
As a diocesan priest in Los Angeles, his first assignment (1990) was to Holy Family, Artesia. After four years, he wanted to become more proficient in Spanish, so he chose to go to St. Elizabeth, Van Nuys. He served this community from 1994 through 2001, as both Associate Pastor and Pastor. In 2001, he was assigned to St. Augustine, Culver City, to serve as their new Pastor. He lead the community in working on a much needed master plan, renovating all the buildings, completing fund raising, design and construction. During his tenure at St. Augustine, he was elected by his brother priests to serve as Dean, for Deanery 13, of Our Lady of Angels Pastoral Region. He served on the Priest Personnel Board for eight years, and enjoyed getting to know many priests and parishes throughout the Archdiocese. In 2012, he took a much needed personal break from ministerial service and worked for Putnam Accessories, in Los Angeles. On July 1, 2014, Fr. Kevin returned to active ministry at Holy Family in Glendale as an associate under Pastor Fr. Jim Bevacqua (former Associate at Holy Trinity, San Pedro).
Beginning July 1, 2018, Fr. Kevin will be here with us as our new Pastor. He enjoys serving the parish community and looks forward to walking with us in our journey of faith.
