The Divine Mercy Novena
began on Good Friday, April 10th, and
ends on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 19th. The National Conference of Catholic Bishops decrees that this particular day be celebrated as "Divine Mercy Sunday," as requested by Saint John Paul II when he made it a universal Feast: "Throughout the world, the Second Sunday of Easter will receive the name Divine Mercy Sunday, a perennial invitation to the Christian world to face, with confidence in divine benevolence, the difficulties and trials that humankind will experience in the years to come." (Ordo, April 7, 2002)
A Novena is nine days of prayer in preparation for a feast. In the case of the Novena to The Divine Mercy, pray the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy each day for a specific intention.
