The Feast of Corpus Christi, also called The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, is a festival of the Roman Catholic Church to honor the real presence of the body (corpus) of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
This year the Feast at Holy Trinity will be celebrated as follows:
Sunday, June 19th
1pm: Bilingual Mass with our Pastor, Fr. Kevin Nolan
2pm: Benediction & Street Procession
3pm: Light refreshments in the gathering area
The procession route will be on the streets surrounding the church. The procession will commence using our new processional canopy at approximately 2:00 PM and conclude by 3:00 PM followed by a gathering with light refreshments in the church patio area. The reception is hosted by Curt's Kitchen, in gratitude for all the support given to this Ministry, especially during the pandemic. A book titled "The Mystery of the Eucharist in the Life of the Church" will be given out as a gift from the parish for those who attend the Corpus Christi Procession.
Please note, the Feast Day falls on Father’s Day. Hopefully, time can be made for participation in this very special celebration. This is what our Catholic faith is all about. The Eucharist is the source and summit of the whole Christian life. The feast of Corpus Christi is a celebration of Christ's Real Presence in the Eucharist. It parallels the celebration on Holy Thursday in commemoration of the institution of this sacrament. When the Eucharist is carried through the streets in solemn procession, we give public witness of our faith and devotion toward the sacrament of the Eucharist.
Further detailed information to follow. Please contact Margie Morones at 310-918-1805 for information or if you would like to assist with the celebration in any way.
