At Back to School Nights, I announced to the school parents that this would be my last year at Holy Trinity School. Today, I want to share this news with you.
I was hired to teach at Holy Trinity in 1983. I had to cut my honeymoon short to get back in time for teacher meetings, which were held in the convent! I have spent the last 38 years, my entire married life, as part of the Holy Trinity Family. My children were raised in this community and received their sacraments at Holy Trinity Church with Father Tom Glynn. Doug and I renewed our wedding vows on our 25th anniversary with Bishop Joe.
We had just a small amount of family in San Pedro when we came, but now we have a huge “chosen” family that we will greatly miss. Doug and I bought a home in Spokane, Washington last Easter. I am originally from Sandpoint, Idaho. My mother, two of my sisters, cousins, and my son, daughter-in-law, and precious granddaughter all live in Spokane. So, not only are we going home, we are going to be ten minutes from Evelyn Marie Wiley, our beautiful granddaughter.
I am proud of the work I have done at Holy Trinity School, and I am proud that I am leaving it in great place—strong spiritually, academically, and financially— for the future.
Thank you to all of you who have been part of our lives for these last 38 years. You will be missed.
