To mark the third anniversary of the dedication of Holy Trinity Church we will celebrate special gathering rites at all the masses on the weekend of October 15 & 16. Mass will begin outside in the gathering area where special prayers will be prayed; then we’ll process into the church together, stopping at the Baptismal Font to bless ourselves as we sing “Glory to God.”
It’s been three years since Cardinal Mahony joined us to dedicate our newly renovated church! On that day he anointed the altar with Sacred Chrism, and burned incense upon it; he blessed the Baptismal Font, and our priests anointed the walls with Sacred Chrism. The Ambo was consecrated by the proclamation of the Word and the Dedication candles were lighted for the first time.
Since then we’ve celebrated All Souls, Thanksgiving, Advent, and Christmas. We’ve married many couples and celebrated the funeral masses of friends and relatives. We’ve met the challenges of Lent, Holy Week, Easter Vigil and Easter season. We have witnessed the First Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion, and our young people being Confirmed. We’ve toasted a Golden Jubilarian and a Silver one in celebrating the ordination anniversaries of our former and current pastors. We’ve experienced the amazement of Pentecost, prayed many a rosary and have sat in quiet contemplation in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
From this multitude of activity, the Word and Eucharist has been carried to the sick, the poor have been served by our outreach to them. Families have been sponsored, children have been formed in their faith. The list can go on and on!
How lovely is God’s dwelling place: the people of Holy Trinity have much to be grateful for.
