This Advent the Music Ministry of Holy Trinity is presenting something a little different to celebrate this season of joyful expectation and hope: Advent Lessons and Carols.
“Lessons and Carols” is a traditional artform which combines seasonal prayers and scriptural readings with beautiful choral works in a concert setting. The evening will feature our combined choirs, soloists and instrumentalists.
You may have seen the Lessons and Carols program on television that features the King’s College choir. In that setting the emphasis is on the birth of Christ but because our lessons and carols concert takes place on the evening of the Fourth Sunday of Advent we have taken special care to keep the celebration seasonal. However, because Christmas Eve will only be a few days away there will be a “hint” of Christmas reflected in the readings and music as well.
The concert presented last October was well received and attended. We really appreciate your support. It is our hope to present another memorable evening of artistry and beauty. The Advent season affords us a special opportunity to let the peace of Christ dwell in our hearts. Please, take this evening to experience this peace in music and text. (December 14,2003)
