Midnight Mass
Midnight Mass
The joyous music of the Christmas season returns to us again in a few days.  The familiar melodies of beloved carols are reminders of a church who has celebrated the Incarnation for 2000 years.

Midnight Mass is a beautiful tradition when those who gathered at midnight were the first to celebrate the liturgy of Christmas Day.  There is a special feel to this liturgy (as indeed there is with all our liturgies); but the darkness, the crispness of the late night air, the church decoration, the proclamation of the sacred scriptures, and the familiar refrains sung by the choir all serve to instill in us a deep sense of the profound meaning of the Nativity of our Lord.

To help enhance the mood of this Mass the Music Ministry will perform a sacred concert of Christmas music beginning at 11:30 p.m.  If you do intend to celebrate your Christmas at midnight this year, please come early and listen to our presentation.

The music during Mass is, of course, mostly to be sung by all of us.  On behalf of our music groups and their directors: Teri DiRocco, Justin Ezzi, Enrique Balderas, Crystal Sepulveda, cantors Bill O’Neill, Marie Booth, Donna Divona, Joan Shanahan, and Nancy Andrews, organist Robert York, and our Music Ministry secretary Kathy Pelc, I thank you for your support and participation all year round.
